Description
Mosterley Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1820, with later alterations and additions from the late 19th century. It is constructed from uncoursed grey sandstone rubble and features a hipped slate roof with two parallel ranges at the rear. The building has a square plan and measures three storeys high with a layout of three by three bays.
On the east front, there is a central second-floor two-light wooden casement window, first-floor segmental-headed wooden cross casements with keystones, and two probably late 19th-century ground-floor hipped canted bay windows. The central entrance consists of a half-glazed panelled door with a segmental head and keystone, and above the central first-floor window is a square datestone that reads "1820," though the initials are illegible as of the last survey in March 1985.
To the left, there is a late 19th-century addition that is set back from the main structure. This addition is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar and includes an integral brick end stack on the left side. It is two storeys tall and consists of one bay with two-light wooden casements on the ground floor, also featuring a segmental head.
