Description

The churchyard wall of the Church of St. John the Baptist is likely from the late 18th century or early 19th century, although it may include earlier reused materials. It is constructed from roughly coursed gritstone and conglomerate rubble and stands a maximum of 2 meters high, enclosing an originally oval-shaped churchyard that is now elevated. The wall is missing on the south side due to the churchyard's extension, but the bank continues in that area and features five yew trees planted on top. The shape and raised nature of the churchyard indicate that the church of St. John the Baptist has an early origin.
