Description

This is a chest tomb located 18 meters south-south-east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Ashford Carbonell. It dates from the early 19th century and is made of sandstone ashlar. The tomb features a plain lid and plain inscribed side panels that have an incised border with inset corners. It also has a plain plinth. The memorial commemorates Thomas McGhie, who died in 1825, and his sister Mary McGhie, who died in 1844.
