Description

Forge House is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling, dating from the early to mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick, which is painted on the front, and features a plain tile roof. It has one storey and an attic, with a high brick plinth and a parapeted gable end to the right, which includes a shaped stone kneeler and a truncated integral brick end stack.

The front has a pair of gabled semi-dormers that contain 20th-century small-paned two-light wooden casements and boarded gables. The façade has two windows, featuring 16-pane glazing bar sashes with slightly segmental heads and painted stone cills. There is an off-centre boarded door to the left, which is sheltered by a hipped porch supported on shaped brackets. A blocked doorway is located to the right.

Access to the entrance is provided by a double flight of stone steps, with five steps to the left and six to the right, accompanied by plain wrought-iron railings. To the right, there is a lower wing that is set back, featuring a parapeted gable end and a pair of garage doors beneath a segmental head. Additionally, there is a segmental-headed three-light window in the right-hand gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
