Description
The Red Lion is a house that has been converted into a public house, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. The building stands three storeys tall, with the ground floor at the left-hand corner being chamfered. There is a plat band between the ground and first floors, along with a dentil brick eaves cornice. At the rear, there is a central integral lateral brick stack.
The façade consists of three bays, with glazing bar sashes that have exposed boxes and painted stone cills. There is a central blind window on the second floor and an inn sign on the first floor, likely positioned above the blind window. The entrance features a central four-panelled door with an impost band and a blind round-arched tympanum. This door is framed by a wooden doorcase that includes plain pilasters supporting sections of an entablature and an open triangular pediment. Additionally, there are remains of a painted sign located between the first and second-floor windows, and evidence of a former roof pitch can be seen in the brickwork of the left-hand gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
