Description
The former Baptist Chapel, built around 1831, is constructed from roughly-coursed limestone rubble, featuring squared quoins and dressed voussoirs. It has a gabled slate roof with diminishing courses and a stone stack on the left end. The building has a rectangular plan and is designed in a simplified Gothic Revival style, comprising one storey and a four-bay range.
The façade includes two-centred pointed arches with voussoirs above double doors that have glazing bars and an overlight set in a tympanum. There are also two-light windows with colonettes leading to shouldered heads, topped with a brattished cornice and glazing bars in the tympanae. A plank door is located on the left gable end, and an original privy is attached to the rear left.
Inside, the chapel is plain, featuring later 19th-century seating and a cast-iron fireplace.
