Description

The Grotto, located approximately 300 meters west of Hardwick Hall, is a disused structure likely built in the late 18th century, with some minor later alterations. It is constructed from roughly coursed sandstone and quartzite rubble, which is now heavily overgrown. The Grotto features entrances on the north and east sides, with the northern entrance having a pointed arch. Inside, there is a plain barrel-vaulted room that is accessed through the pointed arch on the north side.
