Description
New Hall is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 17th century and was partly remodeled around 1774, with later additions and alterations. The building features a rendered timber frame set on a high red brick plinth, with a red brick range at the rear and a plain tile roof. It has a T-plan layout, with a lower 19th-century brick range added behind the short rear range. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with a gable-lit attic.
On the first floor, there are two 20th-century casement windows. The ground floor includes a round-arched gabled brick porch on the left, which has a 20th-century half-glazed door, a 20th-century casement window to the left of centre, and a contemporary canted bay window on the right. There is an external end stack on the right, which has been rebuilt in late 19th-century red brick, along with a plat-band and end stack on the brick range at the rear.
Inside, there is a newel staircase with boxed-in balusters at the junction of the main ranges, and chamfered ceiling beams throughout with ogee stops. The roof has not been inspected but is reported to have curved principals.
