Description
This is an L-shaped barn located approximately 40 meters southeast of Habberley Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof. The barn has an L-plan with a gable on the left side and consists of two levels, with an additional loft in the gable. It has a dentilled eaves cornice and scattered openings, including one eaves hatch in the main range with ventilated openings directly beneath it. There is a door to the left, all with segmental heads. The gable has a hatch on each floor, also with segmental heads, and an inserted door to the left. The barn features twenty-two rows of air vents running from the apex of the gable to the ground floor. At the rear, there is a long range at right angles that has a blocked former threshing entrance with a weatherboarded gable above. Later 19th-century farm buildings attached to the north and south are not included in this listing. The barn serves as a focal point in the village landscape, situated midway between the church and Habberley Hall, and is included for its group value.
