Description

The arched folly in the garden of The Limes is an early 19th-century structure, installed in the 1860s. It is made of stone and features an arcade of three arches that are finely carved with rosettes and other decorative details. This folly is part of a stone screen designed by John Carline, which was originally removed from the Church of St Mary Magdalene. It was later installed in the garden by the architect Samuel Pountney Smith, who was both the owner and builder of The Limes.
