Description

The embattled wall and gateway attached to the north-east corner of Earlsdale is a courtyard wall and gateway built around 1820 to 1830. It is constructed of red brick with stone coping and designed in the Tudor Gothic style. The wall is approximately 30 meters long and features a round-headed entrance arch, which is topped by a lancet opening at the center. This structure forms the northern boundary of the service courtyard of Earlsdale and conceals its buildings from view.
