Description

Brookside Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates back to the 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of rendered and painted brick, which probably conceals a timber frame, and has a plain tile roof. The building has a roughly L-shaped plan, featuring a two-storey range that extends at right angles to the rear on the right side, and two projecting gables at the front. The farmhouse is two storeys high, with all windows being 20th-century casements. There is one window on each floor of the gables, and a full dormer to the right, which, along with the gables, has carved bargeboards and a pointed finial. Additional windows are located beneath the dormer and on the ground floor to the left of the left-hand gable. The entrance is situated to the left of the right-hand gable, beneath a 20th-century gabled porch. A prominent ridge stack, rebuilt in late 19th-century yellow brick, is slightly to the right of the centre. The building is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Brookside House.
