Description
This is a house located in Ashford Bowdler, dating from the 17th century with 20th-century extensions. It features a timber-frame structure with painted brick infill panels, while the extensions are made of painted brick. The house has a thatched roof and a central brick ridge chimney topped with a cogged brick oversailing course.
The building is single storey with an attic and faces north. On the left side, there is a framed bay with a casement window set in square framing that has three panels high. In the center, there is a brick extension bay with a projecting thatched and glazed entrance porch. To the right, there is a 20th-century lean-to extension. At the rear, the right side has a framed bay with large square framing that is partly underbuilt in brick, while the left side has a brick bay. There are four-light casement windows and two 20th-century casements. Each bay has a four-light attic casement set under eyebrow eaves in thatch.
Inside, there is a deep chamfered bridging beam and a cross bridging beam, both featuring ogee chamfer stops.
