Description

St. Cuthbert's Well is a holy well located on Rectory Road in Donington. It is likely from the 19th century in its current form, but it may have medieval origins. The well is constructed from sandstone and features a lintel over two flanking revetment slabs, which are terraced into a bank below the road. The area around the well, which was formerly a marsh, has been landscaped and developed into a recreation area. The well is included in the heritage register for its historical significance.
