Description
The Oaklands is a house located on the north side of High Street in Albrighton, likely built in the late 18th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features plain tiled roofs. The building has two storeys and a painted stone sill band, with a gable-lit attic. The front has two bays, with the entrance in a later extension to the right. The windows are oddly spaced, with a symmetrical arrangement on the first floor that includes a blind window in an arched recess, and two tripartite glazing bar sashes on the ground floor. There is a painted moulded stone eaves cornice that aligns with the floor band of the attic, and two end stacks, one of which on the left incorporates decorative toothed brickwork within the first floor sill band. The roof has raised verges on kneelers. There are 19th and 20th-century extensions to the right and to the rear.
