Description
The Drew Memorial and its railed enclosure, located approximately 12 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. John the Baptist, is a chest tomb dated 1824. It is constructed from sandstone ashlar and designed in the Greek Revival style. The tomb features horizontal fluting on its rounded corners and centre, along with a low hipped capping adorned with corner acroteria. The enclosure is made of cast iron and surrounds three sides of the tomb, topped with spearhead finials. This memorial is dedicated to Samuel Drew.
