Description
This footbridge, dated 1828, is located over Borle Brook and was manufactured by the Coalbrookdale Company. It is constructed of cast iron with stone abutments. The bridge features an elliptical arch and a slightly curving path, with the spandrels filled by conjoined diminishing circles. The balustrades display an elongated diamond pattern, although half of one side has been renewed. Stretcher bars across the main arch are inscribed with "Coalbrookdale Company 1828." The cast-iron foot plates appear to remain intact. The abutments are made of sandstone, featuring string courses and parapets, with one side of both replaced in brick.
