Description
This barn, located approximately 70 metres to the west of Cronkhill, dates from the early to mid-19th century and is now partly used for storage. It is constructed of red brick in monk bond and features a hipped slate roof. The barn is one and two storeys high and has five tiers of vents on the right side. To the left, there is a cart entrance with a pair of large boarded doors, and a blocked cart entrance is located off-centre to the right. On the right side, there are three boarded loft doors, two of which have segmental heads, along with two ground-floor segmental-headed boarded doors. A small segmental-headed window is found to the left of the central doors, while a segmental-headed window and another pair of large boarded doors are situated to the left of the cart entrance.
Inside, the left-hand threshing floor is bordered by a low wall leading to the right-hand storage bay, though the left-hand wall has been demolished. The interior features king post roof trusses. This barn is part of a complete early and mid-19th century farm complex associated with the National Trust's Attingham Park Estate Vernacular Building Survey.
