Description

Great Lyth Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of painted brick, with a plain tile roof and end stacks, the tops of which were rebuilt in the 20th century using red brick. The building has an L-shaped plan, with a lower addition set at right angles to the rear on the right side. It is two storeys high with a gable-lit attic, and features a wide floor band above the ground floor. The front facade has three windows, with glazing bar sashes having segmental heads to the first floor, and three-light casements on the ground floor. The central entrance has a six-panel door, the top panels glazed, beneath a 20th-century gabled porch supported by wooden posts. A small, gabled eaves dormer is located centrally in the roof.
