Description
Minton House is a house dated 1753, constructed from stone rubble and faced with coursed squared stones, topped with a plain old tile roof. It features projecting stepped gable-end chimneys with restored brick stacks, one of which is now encased in an extension bay. The building has a rectangular plan that runs parallel to the street.
The exterior is two stories high with an attic and presents a front that includes a two-story, three-window range of 6/6 sash windows. There is a central 19th-century gabled stone porch with a glazed front door. Three through-eaves dormers, each with 3/6 sashes, are also present. The windows are set in plain ashlar surrounds with keyblocks. To the right, there is a slightly recessed extension bay that features a single 6/6 sash window on each story. The rear of the house is covered by later extensions.
Inside, there is a swept moulded mantelbeam and reset 17th-century panelling on a dog-leg staircase.
