Description

A stable and cartshed dating to approximately 1800, situated roughly 25 metres to the northwest of Wood Farmhouse. The building is constructed of red brick with a plain tile roof. It is two storeys high, featuring a dentil brick eaves cornice and crowstepped gable ends with slightly corbelled brick coping. The east-facing front has two bays on the first floor and three bays on the ground floor. The first floor has a segmental-headed two-light wooden casement window and a boarded loft door to the left. To the left of these is a segmental-headed slatted window and a boarded door. A 20th-century sliding door has been inserted to the left. The right side has three segmental-headed cart openings, supported by brick piers with rounded copings and stone plinths. Breather openings are present in the left-hand gable end. The interior was not inspected, but the first floor may have previously been used, in part, as a granary.
