Description

The Hartland monument, located about 10 yards south of the southeast corner of the nave of the Church of St James, is a chest tomb commemorating John Hartland, who died in 1752. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a moulded plinth and capping. The monument is adorned with corner balusters and inscription panels that are enriched with swagged drapery and putti.
