Description
This is a 17th-century barn range located approximately 80 meters north of Seed Farmhouse in Cradley. The structure features a weatherboarded timber frame with plain tile and corrugated roofs. It consists of two adjoining barns, each with four bays. The barn on the left has a tile roof and includes double doors in bays two and four. It has a stone plinth, square panel framing, jowled posts with curved braces on either side of the threshing floor, raking queen-post trusses, double trenched purlins, clasped principals, and a ridge piece. There are some remains of split hazel intertwined infill. The barn on the right, which has a corrugated roof, is similar in design and likely has a floor inserted, along with remnants of threshing machinery. Its roof features queen-strut trusses and various doorways. This barn range is part of a group with Seed Farmhouse.
