Description

This is a cistern located about 15 metres north-east of Gatley Park, built in 1637 and restored in the late 19th century. It features a lead structure on a brick plinth topped with a shingle roof. The cistern is circular and sits on a square plinth, crowned with an octagonal pyramidal roof. Its sides are ribbed to create three tiers of square panels, with the year 1637 displayed in relief on the middle tier, accompanied by a series of coats of arms belonging to the Ewer family.
