Description

This is an 18th-century terrace of red-brick houses, numbered 157 to 163 on The Homend. Numbers 157 and 163 have been rendered with roughcast. The roofs are low-pitched and slate-covered, with gabled ends and brick dentil eaves. The houses are three storeys high and have five windows each. Most windows are 2-light casements with segmental brick-arched heads; the second floor has smaller casements. Number 163 now has modern casements throughout, along with two modern gabled dormers built into the roof and a modern glazed front door. Number 161 features a ground floor canted bay, and number 157 has a large modern glazed porch. Brick chimney stacks are present.

Numbers 147 to 163 (the odd numbers) and number 183 are designated as a group.
