Description
These stables, located about 20 yards north-west of Brook House, are likely from the 18th century. They feature a timber frame with brick infill and a roof that is tiled but has some areas repaired with slate. The building consists of three bays arranged in an east-west direction. The south elevation includes a wooden mullioned opening in the left bay, a ledged door in the center bay, and a brick lean-to extension in front of the right bay. There is a stable door on the west gable, which has a loft opening that is filled with an 18th-century wrought iron casement. The frame of the stables is three panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, with angle struts connecting the tops of the corner posts. The gables feature V-struts that connect the collars to the principals. Brook House itself is not included in this listing.
