Description

The New House, located at 1560 Alton Street on the north side, is a building from the 18th century and later. It is a two-storey red stone house with dormers and an old slate roof, designed in a T shape with the stem facing south. There is a later extension to the west. The southern wing features a moulded cornice and an unusual iron trellis porch that resembles a large bracket, extending almost to the ground. The windows are sash style with glazing bars, and the entrance includes an 8-panel door with fielded panels and a hood that has a moulded edge.
