Description
Jugs Hole Cottage, located approximately 100 metres north-east of Garford, is a house dating from the 17th century, with additions from the 19th century. The structure is timber-framed, featuring mainly painted brick infill, a sandstone plinth, and an external stack with a detached brick shaft, all topped by a tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays aligned east to west, facing south, with a brick addition to the west and a lean-to at the rear. There is an entry at the east gable end and an external stack on the east side. The cottage is two storeys high and has four 19th-century two-light casement windows. A gabled porch is situated against the stack on the right end, which includes a ledged door. The framing displays four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate and is largely complete. Inside, the cottage retains wattle-and-daub infill in the rear wall, which is enclosed by the later lean-to, along with stop-chamfered beams and joists.
