Description
Summerfield Lodge is a sexton's cottage built around 1860. It is constructed of stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a hipped, banded plain tile roof with stone ridge and end stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys high. The front has a single-window range with a 2-light casement that has a chamfered stone mullion and case, which interrupts the eaves. The central entrance consists of a plank door with a pointed head, set under a chamfered ashlar arch of a gable porch. This entrance is flanked by plain lights, with the left light featuring a mullion in quoined ashlar cases. On the right side, there is a tier of 2-light mullion casements and a plain light leading to the rear wing.
