Description
Shaky Bridge Cottage is a pair of cottages, likely built in the late 17th century, with later alterations. The cottages are constructed from sandstone rubble, with a timber-framed upper floor that features plaster infill, and they have tiled roofs. There is an extruded sandstone rubble end stack with a brick shaft. The building has a rectangular plan that is aligned north-north-east to south-south-west, with a smaller parallel range to the west. It stands two storeys high.
The east elevation includes three windows, which are late 19th to early 20th century casements of unequal size on the right-hand side. On the ground floor, there is a 2-light mid-20th century steel casement on the left and a late 19th century three-light casement on the right. There are two entrances, one on the left and one on the right-hand side. Additionally, there is a weatherboarded lean-to on the left gable. The frame of the first floor features three square panels at the wall-plate. The interior has not been inspected.
