Description

Lower Castleton is a building dated 1724, constructed of red brick with rusticated stone quoins and a stone band at the first floor level. It stands two storeys high and features three windows, each with three-light casements. The central window has a stone keyblock inscribed with "IMM 1724". There is a central panelled door topped with glazed panels, and the entrance is sheltered by a porch supported by slender wooden columns. The building has brick dentil eaves and a steep hipped slate roof.
