Description
This is a group of two chest tombs from the 18th century, located approximately 2 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Michael in Hope Mansell. Both tombs are made of sandstone. The southern tomb features a shallow-pitched moulded top and fluted square baluster ends, with an inscription that includes "John Knight ..... 1783." The northern tomb has a flat moulded top, with end cartouches decorated with rococo scrolls. The north side of this tomb displays swags and a worn inscription that includes "George James ..... 1748."
