Description
Clytha House, located at 44 New Street, is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof adorned with dentil blocks. The façade includes five sash windows, although the central window is blocked. There is a decorative band beneath the first-floor windows. The entrances are positioned on both the right and left sides of the house, each featuring open pediments supported by cut brackets and fanlights. Between the doors, there are two bows, each containing three curved sash windows. The houses are set on a raised pavement, although the railings have been removed. The east side of the building has a central sash window flanked by two blocked recesses. Clytha House, along with Nos 43 to 45 and Telford House, forms a cohesive group of buildings.
