Description

The building at 40 and 41 New Street dates from the early 19th century. It is a three-storey structure built of red brick, with decorative dentil blocks. It features flanking two-storey bays that terminate at the top of the first floor, and wide retaining arches above these bays. The two doorways are sheltered by a single flat hood supported by three brackets. The doorways are round-headed, each with a fanlight, although the fanlights lack glazing bars. Numbers 40 to 42 New Street are grouped together as a cohesive unit.
