Description
Evanhay Farmhouse is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the 17th century and has undergone alterations and additions in the mid-20th century. The structure is timber-framed with rendered infill sitting on a rubble base, and it features rendered rubble and brick end walls topped with a concrete tiled roof. The building consists of two framed bays oriented north-west to south-east, with a large external rendered rubble chimney and a circular bread oven located at the north-west gable end. It is a single storey with an attic that includes dormers.
The south-west front elevation displays three 2-light 20th-century ground floor casement windows, a flat-roofed 20th-century dormer with a 3-light casement in the north-west bay, and a gabled 20th-century timber porch supported by straight brackets, featuring a partly-glazed 20th-century door in the south-east bay. There are attic lights in the gable ends. A 20th-century flat-roofed single-storey extension is attached to the south-east end. Inside, the framing is largely intact, and there is a large fireplace preserved in the north-west bay.
