5/9 Dovecot about 80 yards south-east of the .3.1960 Church of St Michael (Formerly listed as Dovecot at Church Farm)

Dovecot. C14. Sandstone rubble with truncated concial roof rising to parapet behind which is a central domed cupola supported on shafts. Circular plan. Battered base, water spouts to north and south, C14 entry to south side has shouldered jambs and square head above which is an illegible inscription (noted in RCHM) and a 2-centred relieving arch; square-headed doorway in north side is possibly C19. Interior has domical stone roof with circular central opening, 19 rows of nesting holes and a large stone in the centre of site of potence. (RCHM Vol I, p 72).
