Description
This building is a barn located about 30 yards north-east of Great Treaddow. It likely dates from the 17th and 18th centuries, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The barn is constructed from sandstone rubble and features a timber frame with weatherboards and brick infill. It has roofs made of pantiles, Welsh slate, and corrugated iron. The structure is arranged in an L-shape, consisting of three parts: one arm has two sections aligned north/south, while the third part extends westward at the north end.
The east elevation features a three-bay section on the left with exposed brick-filled timber framing. It has central two-leaved ledged doors and a pantiled roof. To the right is a six-bay section with weatherboards, which includes two-leaved doors from the 20th century. Adjacent to the doors, there is a row of five vent slits and a 20th-century breeze block porch. Next to the porch is the weatherboarded gable of the return range, which contains about five structural bays. The interior of all three sections has trusses with angle struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters. This barn is included for its group value.
