Description
This memorial, located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Edmund, was erected in 1802 in memory of Francis Dort de le Borde of Mereville and Clessy. It is made of ashlar and slate. The memorial features an ashlar plinth that supports a large rectangular ashlar chest. The front and rear of the chest are adorned with scroll decorations along the top, while the sides are decorated with turned balustrade type moulding. On the south side, there is a slate tablet. The top of the chest is crowned with a single large decorative ashlar urn. Francis Dort de le Borde was a French refugee.
