Description
This is a group of three headstones located 7 meters south of the chancel at the Church of St. Peter in East Bridgford. The headstones date from 1775, 1777, and 1810 and are made of slate, commemorating the Caunt family.
The headstone on the left features a shouldered round head with foliate borders and is dated 1775, signed "Brown, Whatton." The central stone has a double shouldered round head with foliate borders, a cartouche containing a globe, and an inscription dedicated to Joseph Caunt, dated 1810, signed "Jones Sculp." The headstone on the right has a stepped round head and an Adam style border adorned with urns. It includes a cartouche with a Divine Monogram and angels, dedicated to Thomas Caunt, dated 1777, and signed "R. Brown Sculp."
