Description
The pigeoncote and kennels at North Laiths Farm were built in the mid-19th century. This structure is made of brick and features gabled and conical slate roofs. It has moulded dentillated eaves and a pedimented gable. The building is two storeys high and consists of a single bay. The openings have rebated bullnosed brick reveals and round heads.
On the south front, there are three small plank doors, and above these is a central doorway flanked by single small openings that have ashlar surrounds and alighting shelves. Above this doorway, there is another similar arrangement with a doorway flanked by openings with shelves. At the top, there is a round pigeoncote with annular pigeonholes and a continuous shelf. The conical roof features four gabled lucarnes and a wind vane. There is also an adjoining open cowshed with five bays, which is not of special interest.
