Description

King's Barn is a house, originally two cottages, dating to the early 18th century, with a later 18th-century extension and a 20th-century addition. The house is constructed of red brick, with some blue brick detailing. It has a plain tile roof, with two red brick gable stacks and a single rendered ridge stack. The gable ends have blue brick copings with kneelers.

The building is two storeys high, plus a garret, and has six bays; the single bay on the right was added in the late 18th century. A first-floor band runs around the early 18th-century section, and another band sits above the first-floor lintels. The windows are mostly tripartite glazing bar casements set under segmental arches. The ground floor includes a small glazing bar casement, a single Yorkshire sash window, a casement, and a tripartite glazing bar casement, all under segmental arches. The first floor has three tripartite casements under segmental arches, with small glazing bar casements on either side and a 20th-century tripartite glazing bar casement on the far right. A 20th-century lean-to, built of brick and concrete tiles, is located on the right side. The left gable features some blue brick diaperwork.
