Description
The Old Vicarage is an early 19th-century house located on the east side of Fosse Way in East Stoke. It is built of red brick that has been whitewashed and features a hipped slate roof with a single ridge and a rear right red brick chimney stack. The eaves display a dogtooth pattern. The house is two storeys high and consists of three bays.
The central doorway is adorned with part Gothick glazing bars and has a panelled door, which is sheltered by an arched wood and lead trellis porch. On either side of the door are single Gothick glazing bar sash windows set beneath segmental arches. Above the door, there are two similar sash windows, with a smaller sash window in the center.
The east front has a prominent central canted bay that is two storeys high and dates from the mid-19th century. This bay features a single glazing bar sash window, with smaller sash windows in the side walls. To the left and right of the canted bay are additional glazing bar sash windows, both also set under segmental arches. Above the canted bay, the arrangement mirrors that of the ground floor, with single glazing bar sashes on either side.
