Description

The Coach House at Elston Towers is a late 19th-century building constructed of red and yellow brick, featuring a hipped slate roof and a yellow brick eaves band. It is set on a plinth and consists of two storeys with four bays. The first floor has a yellow brick band adorned with decorative terracotta panels, and both the ground and first floors have sill and hood mould bands.

The ground floor includes a large triangular arched doorway with a plank door, a single round arched casement with hexagonal and lozenge glazing bars to the right, a part-blocked triangular arched doorway further right, and a similar blocked window on the far right. Above this, there is a pair of similar lights and to the right, a single similar light, along with another triangular arched doorway with a plank door and a single similar window opening on the far right.

The left wall features a doorway, above which is a circular fixed light with decorative glazing bars, flanked by single recessed panels with yellow brick surrounds that contain painted shields decorated with single fleurons. To the right, there is a projecting four-storey tower that was formerly topped with a clock but now has a 20th-century stack.

The tower has a yellow brick cornice with attenuated brackets and is also set on a plinth. It features ground and first floor hood mould bands, as well as first, second, and third floor bands, all in yellow brick. The tower includes a triangular arched doorway with double doors, above which are similar pairs of window openings, with the right one featuring glazing bars. Above this, there is a single rectangular inset panel with yellow brick blind lancets, and on the top floor, a single rectangular panel with a yellow brick surround and an inner yellow brick panel containing a decorative quatrefoil.
