Description

Calverton House is an early 19th-century vicarage, now a house, situated on Main Street, Calverton. The building is constructed of brick, which has been rendered, and features hipped slate roofs with gabled pantile sections. It has a chamfered plinth and corbelled eaves, along with two ridge stacks and three side wall stacks. The layout is L-shaped, with the main building being six bays wide by two bays deep. Most windows are glazing bar sashes. The west front has a rebated, round-headed recess containing a door with flanking lights and a fanlight; a sash window is located to the left of the recess, and two sashes are positioned above. The north side has an adjoining service wing to the left. This wing has a door flanked to the left by two casements and to the right by a Yorkshire sash. The main building section of the north side has four tall sashes, with four sashes above. The south side has six sashes on each floor. The service wing’s south side has two small casements, one on each floor.
