Description
This is a house built around 1820, with minor alterations made around 1860. It is constructed of brick and stucco, with a gently sloping slate roof and features two stucco chimney stacks. The street front is three bays wide, with a central recessed round-headed doorway framed by an ornate surround and a six-panel door with a fanlight, all beneath a slightly projecting pedimented porch. Flanking the doorway are single sash windows with glazing bars, each set beneath a Tudor hood. Above, there are three sash windows with glazing bars, the central one slightly narrower, also with Tudor hoods. The garden front echoes the street front, with a central round-headed doorway containing a modern half-glazed door and fanlight, flanked by single sash windows with glazing bars and Tudor hoods. The interior retains numerous original features, including a stick baluster staircase, decorative cornices, original doors with matching surrounds, and dado rails. The house's historical significance is documented in "In Search of Historic Beeston" by Margaret E. Cooper.
