Description

White Gates and White Gates Cottage is a cottage from the 17th century and a house from the 18th and 19th centuries, located on Middle Street in Misson. The cottage, situated on the right, is likely constructed of rubble and is rendered. It features a plinth, a steeply pitched pantile roof, a coped gable, and has a single gable and ridge stack. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, positioned end-on to the street. The left side has a 20th-century glazed door, with a two-light casement window to the left and a three-light casement window to the right. Beyond these, there is another three-light casement and an additional glazed door. Above, there are two two-light glazing bar casements. To the right, there is a 20th-century lean-to made of brick and rendered, topped with a pantile roof, which has a central half-glazed door flanked by single glazing bar fixed lights. The interior features a dogleg stair with a winder, four jowled posts, two tie beams, a stud partition, 17th and 18th-century plank doors, and part of the original roof structure.

The house on the left is made of brick and rendered, with a pantile roof, dentillated eaves, coped gables, and a single gable stack. It is also two storeys high and has two bays. The front includes a 20th-century half-glazed door, with a two-light glazing bar casement to the left and a single glazing bar fixed light to the right. Above, there are two two-light glazing bar casements. The interior contains a brick vaulted cellar, a reused span beam, a pair of 17th-century decorated cupboard doors, and a single 18th-century fielded panelled door.
