Description

Park Cottage is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared rubble and features a pantile roof. The building has ashlar dressings, a coped gable with kneelers, and includes two gable stacks, two rear wall stacks, and a single ridge stack. The layout is double-depth with a long rear wing, forming an L-shape.

The house is two storeys high and has four bays. The irregular facade showcases a moulded timber doorcase with scrolled brackets supporting a hood, which contains a half-glazed door. To the left, there is a late 19th-century two-storey canted bay window made of ashlar with a plain tile roof, featuring three mullioned and transomed glazing bar casements. To the right, there are two glazing bar sashes with an intermediate round-headed fixed light.

On the upper floor, to the left, there are three mullioned and transomed glazing bar casements, and to the right, one small and two larger glazing bar sashes. The right gable has irregular fenestration, including a 19th-century bay window and oriel, as well as two fixed lights set in splayed ashlar reveals.

At the rear, there is a stairwell that is two storeys high and consists of a single bay, featuring a coped gable with kneelers and a circular window with an ashlar surround. The rear wing includes a two-storey projecting bay with a doorway that has a Gibbs surround, and above it, there is a circular window with an ashlar surround, a coped gable with kneelers, and an elaborate wind vane.
