Description
Denman Public Library is a rambling building with a mid-18th century extension that faces the street and features five windows with hung sashes and glazing bars. The windows have keystones and the center ones project slightly. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, and there are two late 19th century gabled dormers. The building has brick end pilasters and a modern one-storey extension at the ground floor. The original structure dates from the early 18th or 17th century, but little of it remains unaltered as it has been converted into a small public library. The entrance is accessed through a small passage, with the door located in a porch at the angle of the building. The longer arm of the building has four windows, while the shorter arm faces the street and features a modern ground floor window topped by an early 19th century cast iron balcony, along with a Venetian window on the second storey. The roof is pantiled, and there is a brick eaves cornice. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 33 (odd).
