Description
The Wesleyan Chapel, built in 1832, is a brick structure topped with a pantile roof and features ashlar dressings. It has dentillated eaves, a pediment, an eaves band, and a coped gable with kneelers. The chapel is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The south gable is adorned with flanking pilasters and a recessed central bay that contains a two-leaf panelled door with a rendered splayed lintel. This door is flanked by single glazing bar sash windows with rubbed brick heads. Above the door, there are two Tudor arched lights featuring Gothick tracery. At the very top, a datestone is inscribed with 'Wesleyan Methodist Chapel 1832'. The east side includes a mullioned and transomed casement window and a blocked opening, while the north gable has two blocked Tudor arched openings. Surrounding the chapel is a dwarf brick boundary wall with stone coping, which supports 19th-century wrought iron railings and a gate.
