Description
The Pigeoncote at Serlby Park is a mid-18th century structure made of red brick with a pantile roof and dentillated eaves. It is two storeys high and features five bays, along with a band at the first floor level. The central doorway is blocked and set beneath a segmental arch. To the right, there is a later casement window and doorway, while to the left, there is another later doorway and casement. The casements do not have glazing. Above the lower openings, there are two rectangular openings, each with wooden bars in their upper halves. Slightly set back to the left is a lean-to made of brick and pantile, which has brick coping and a flush band of headers above the blocked doorway. Above this band, several ventilation holes are arranged in a diamond pattern. Inside, there is an inserted first floor that contains rows of brick nesting holes and ledges on all four sides, which originally extended from the floor to the roof, with evidence of blocked holes on the ground floor.
